What are the correct positions for stooping, squatting and kneeling?

- Decide which position to use. Always keep the whole of the back as straight as possible – imagining that you have a rod attached and alongside the spine.
- Always place one foot slightly in front of the other.
- Kneel on to one knee when you have to go well down and need to stay that way for awhile. Place a cushion or padding under the knee.
- For each of these positions, face the object, keep your feet apart, tighten your stomach muscles and lower yourself by bending the knees and using your legs.
