  • I am forever grateful to Dr. Lionel Phillips for accepting to treat me after I had suffered from sciatica for over three months. Bed rest, pain killers, anti-inflammatory tablets and physiotherapy were all ineffective. Having listened to my history and after examining me Dr. Phillips explained the source of the problem. He estimated that after 2 – 3 treatments the pains should start to subside. Within 4 weeks I was able to function so much easier. My problem was exacerbated by weak abdominal muscles. I needed to start a stretching & exercise regimen and improve my posture. Before the treatments I could not even sit on the floor without extreme difficulty. He demonstrated how I should walk, and I pushed myself to get going & keep it up. My grateful thanks to Dr. Phillips for your compassion, care and professional advice.   • Simple logic saved me from a health decline that I may never have recovered from. ‘Have you ever noticed that most fast eaters carry excess fat?” was the question put to me by Dr. Phillips. And I fell bang in to that category. I was advised how to eat and especially how to chew. I was explained the very elementary difference between Muscle & Fat. Without dieting but with a new knowledge & determination, I adhered to all the advice. The result? I started to eat less, enjoy & taste every particle, became more relaxed and actually lost fat!   • I have been associated with Dr. Phillips for the past 30 years. During this time, Dr Phillips has been my sports & physical training mentor. I received his most professional advice which included the following: a) to stop jogging (which caused severe knee pains) & to keep fit through power walking which was a new science for me completely. With the addition of his stretching routine, I have been injury free. b) good eating habits as well as ensuring that the foods are chewed to their maximum to allow the digestion to work easily & correctly. c) changed my general breathing techniques. d) explained the importance of drinking sufficient water. e) general healthy dietary habits. f) the importance of correct posture at all times. I have no doubt that this unique website will be most beneficial to the average person with limited medical knowledge, both young & old, as it is all explained and illustrated in simple terminology which will assist in the understanding of many medical aspects, that were until now, understood and limited mainly to the medical profession. His years of experience in the benefits of correct exercise and knowledge about the needs of the human body will no doubt be of benefit to many people.   • I had an acute pain in my right shoulder which prevented me from lifting my arm and rotating it normally. This had been going on for about 4 months. I consulted with you and after a brief examination, you came to the conclusion that I had a rotator cuff injury and the supraspinatous tendon was torn. This was before I showed you the results of the ultrasound which verified that condition. You suggested I do a series of exercises based on the Dynamic Tension principal and I needed to avoid full range of motion. I did them religiously for just two weeks and lo and behold, I’m back into instructing Tai Chi and I have no problem with movement in general as well as being able to put on and take off a sweater which I couldn’t do before! I know I still have to be careful, but I’m back training again at almost full force thanks to you and your vast knowledge of the human body.
