Can you explain the make-up of the spine in simple terms?

Your spine is made up of 5 specific sections. These are:

- The Neck (Cervical) Spine with 7 Vertebrae.
- The Shoulders to the Waist(Thoracic) Spine with 12 Vertebrae.
- The Lower Back (Lumber) Spine with 5 Vertebrae;
- The Sacrum, which as you grow older fuse together into one large triangular bone from being 5 at birth. The fusion can take place between ages of 16-26. It sits like a wedge in between the hip bones;
- The Coccyx (Tail) Bone is the last part of the spine. It is made up of between 3 – 5 fused vertebrae.
